Fr. Nicolas Michael Krick
Krick was born on 1st
March, 1819 at Lixhein, France. He was ordained on 1st June, 1844.
On September 26, 1851 he reached Sadiya. In 1852 he made the first visit to
Tibet. In 1854, he made the second trip and was killed at Somme village on 2nd
August. Eye witnesses say that he was killed while he was walking about saying
his prayers after attending to his sick companion. His last latter was written
from Somme on 29th July. He was buried at Somme and the villagers
kept the place specially marked even to this day.
Fr. Augustine Etienne Bourry
Bourry was born on 26th
December, 1826, at Chapelle Largeault, France. In 1852 he was ordained and
appointed to Korean mission but later change to the Tibetan Mission. In March
1853 he reached Guwahati, travelled and met his superior Fr. Krick at Saikhowa
on 22nd July, 1853. On 19th February, Krick and Bourry
left Saikhowa on their journey towards Tibet. The letter of 29th
July reported that Bourry to be sick. He was killed on his sick bed on 2nd
August 1854. Along with Krick, the villagers buried him at Somme.

special favours through the intercession of the
Proto Martyrs of
North East India, Frs. Krick and Bourry
Eternal Father, you have
called us to be your sons and daughters through Jesus the Lord. He commanded us
to continue his mission in the world through our words and example. Filled with
this zeal for your kingdom Frs. Krick and Bourry left their homes and all that
they had and proclaimed the Kingdom of God in this region unto martyrdom.
We thank and praise you for
their example and holiness. We pray for the church in our region, for the
families, the youth, the bishops, Priests and religious, for vocations and for
peace in our region. Hear our prayer for the church in Arunachal in a special
way, so that it may ever be vibrant like the church in the Acts of the
Apostles.

Frs. Krick and Bourry, I / WE now implore you for........(add the special
intention)..... May the intercession of Mary the queen of the missions and of
the proto martyrs make our humble supplication find favour in your sight. AMEN
