National
Tourism Day was observed with quiz competitions and plantation by the District
Tourism Department of Changlang District Arunachal Pradesh at Newman School
Neotan on 25 January.
Ms.
Khoda Yakang, the district Tourism Information Officer (TIO) of Changlang
District, spoke to the students on the immense possibilities of tourism in
India and especially in Arunachal Pradesh. “Our state is an unexplored region,
with beauty that can mesmerize anyone who visits here” said the TIO. Fr. Felix,
the Principal of Newman School that hosted the event also highlighted the
beauty of Arunachal. “Arunachal Pradesh is a real gateway to serenity and there
are so many uniquely beautiful places in the State that cannot be found in any
other place in our country”, he said. He also encouraged the students to take
tourism as a main study. Tourism in Arunachal is indeed a very promising job
prospect for anyone looking for new job avenues, he added.
Marking
the event and to help the students know more on the places of the country,
especially of Arunachal Pradesh, the TIO conducted a quiz competition. The
winners of the quiz were given prizes.
The
event concluded with planting saplings across the school campus.
